On February 4-6 Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Arvydas Pocius conducted a formal visit in Greece where he shared Lithuania's experience of participation in the European Union-led operations, standbys in the EU Battle groups, and other activities in the framework of the EU Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) with leading officials of the Armed Forces of the Hellenic Republic.
The meeting Lithuanian and Greek defence officials also discussed the experience of both countries in reforming the national Armed Forces, participation in NATO-led and other multinational exercises, perspectives of bilateral military cooperation between Lithuania and Greece.
The Lithuanian Chief of Defence also met with Greek Minister of National Defence Dimitrios Avramopoulos and Chief of Defence General Mikhail Kostarakos, other representatives of the Hellenic Armed Forces and toured the units of the Armed Forces providing training for the Hellenic military personnel.
