On October 22–23 Inspector for the Navy of the Republic of Poland Vice Admiral Jarosław Ziemiański paid a visit to the Lithuanian Navy.   

Vice Admiral Jarosław Ziemiański and Rear Admiral Giedrius Premeneckas toured ships of the Lithuanian Naval Flotilla and inspected damage control training system. The guest was briefed on the organisation structure of the Lithuanian Navy, capabilities and plans ahead.   

The Lithuanian and Polish Navies are bound by years of cooperation and constant training together at sea. After becoming members of NATO, the countries continue their close cooperation in the format of Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1. Lithuanian seamen were leaning from the experience of their Polish colleagues preparing to flagship Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 in 2013, the task was successfully implemented in 2014.

Civilian and navy ships of Poland are visiting Klaipėda Seaport every year to train in the different international maneuvers in the Baltic Sea. In August ORP Kapitan Poinc SAREX ship trained at the international Exercise Balex Delta organized by the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre of the Lithuanian Navy.
