January 11, Lithuanian troops were decorated for participation in the NATO Training Mission - Iraq (NTM-I) and the EU Operation Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Chief of Joint Headquarters Brig Gen Algis Vaičeliūnas presented medals for Multinational Operations to Capt Audrius Krinickas and MSgt Andrejus Kolmykovas and to Capt Artūras Gimžauskas - a badge of the Medal for Multinational Operations for multiple multinational deployments.

 

Capt Audrius Krinickas and MSgt Andrejus Kolmykovas conducted half-year duty in NTM-I contributing to the key aim of the mission - training of Afghan security forces and technical assistance in order to build effectice democratic state and stable security sector.

 

Capt Artūras Gimžauskas was deployed with the EU Operation Althea in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was the last representative Lithuania had contributed to the operation closing national participation with his return.
