April 17, a delegation of the Humanitarian Affairs Department, Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, paid a visit to the Lithuanian Land Force Headquarters. The visit facilitated exchange of experience on public-military cooperation practices, enhancement of military personnel welfare and methods of sustaining force morale.
Assistant to the Land Force Chief of Staff for CIMIC Lt Col Donatas Žilys briefed the guests on the public-military interaction undertaken stressing the importance of event organisation, aims and profit of such events. Public-military cooperation was underscored to not just strengthen the bond with community but also improve the public opinion about the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the profession of the military.
Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation were interested to learn more about the processes of civic education, the role of pastoral care services in military units, enhancement of nationality awareness and means of internal communication.
Other topics discussed were measures to improve military service conditions, support high morale, strengthen good climate and motivation.
