Air Force Command and Staff Course held at the Gen Jonas Žemaitis Lithuanian Military Academy with the aim to train component-level skills of analysis and planning of warfare operations in the Baltic air force staff officers ended on December 14. This year each of the three Baltic States delegated 5 officers to the 16-week course.
Graduates of the Air Force Command and Staff Course are prepared for leading positions in air force units, air force staffs or other national or NATO staffs up to a component level as well as candidate for higher level courses at the Baltic Defence College or other NATO colleges.
Air Force Command and Staff Course is an important international project where instructors and lecturers of the Lithuanian Military Academy are actively assisted by instructors of the Danish Royal Air Force Academy. They teach students theory and practice of operational planning, subtleties and logistics of air asset protection and organisation. Annually they send a Danish instructor to the Latvian Air Force to train and evaluate listeners of similar courses.
Graduates of the course were presented with Air Force Command and Staff Course graduation badges and certificates. Formal ceremony was attended by the Commandant of the Lithuania Military Academy Col Gintaras Bagdonas, lecturers, personnel and other guests.
