Chief of Defence will participate in the Baltic Military Committee's meeting


On November 7 and 8 Chiefs of Defence of the Baltic States will convene in Otepää (Estonia), Lt Gen Arvydas Pocius, Maj Gen Raimonds Graube and Lt Gen Ants Laaneots will represent their respective states.

 

The man focus of the meeting will be military cooperation matters of the Baltic States. Baltic CHODs are expected to discuss Baltic input in NATO and the EU operations and joint Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian military training events in training areas in the Baltic States. The top-ranking Baltic military officers will address conduct of the Baltic Air-policing mission, points of developing the Baltic Defence College and training military officers. They will also discuss the ongoing trilateral projects: BALTRON, the project of Baltic naval squadron, and BALTNET, the Baltic Air Surveillance Network.

 

Chiefs of Defence of the Baltic States meet on a biannual basis.

 

Chief of Defence of Lithuania is expected to return on November 8.
