Chief of the Royal Danish Army paid a visit to Lithuania

On June 20 Chief of the Royal Danish Army (Danish: Hæren) Maj Gen Gunner Arpe Nielsen paid a visit to Lithuania.

The guest was officially welcomed at the Lithuanian Land Force Headquarters in Vilnius by Commander Brig Gen Raimundas Vaikšnoras. Maj Gen G. A. Nielsen was briefed on the Lithuanian Land Force mission tasks and challenges, Generals discussed a range of relevant military cooperation topics - standby duty for multinational response forces, joint military training, experience with weaponry and equipment and other relevant matters.

It was the first visit to Lithuania for Maj Gen G. A. Nielsen. Guests of such rank are given a formal Lithuanian Armed Forces Honor Guard welcome on their first visits to Lithuania.

Lithuania and Denmark have enjoyed nearly three decades of a successful cooperation already. Military personnel of both countries have been deployed to different multinational operations, carried out standbys, trained in multinational command-post exercises and field training exercises, studied at different courses together.
