April 7-9, Chief of Defence of Lithuania Maj. Gen. Arvydas Pocius will conduct an official visit in Copenhagen (Denmark) and meet with Lt. Gen. Knud Bartels, Chief of Defence of Denmark.
In the meetings Lithuanian and Danish CHODs plan to address points of cooperation between the national armed forces, NATO reform, and the new NATO's Strategic Concept.
The top-ranking military defence officials will discuss cooperation points related to the multinational mission in Afghanistan, trilateral Baltic Battalion affiliated to the Danish Division and currently deployed in the 14th rotation of the NATO Response Force, and the Danish Brigade providing training for Tactical Air Assault Command Teams of Lithuania since 2006.
During the visit Lithuanian CHOD Maj. Gen. A.Pocius is also expected to meet with Commander of the Danish Division Maj. Gen. Agnus Roko and Lithuanian officers serving in the Division.
Lithuanian and Danish armed forces have been developing cooperation since March of 1994 on the basis of bilateral cooperation agreement signed by the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence and Denmark's Defence Ministry.
