On May 26, in Vilnius, Commander of the Bundeswehr Joint Force Command Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank was welcomed by Chief of the Defence Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Remigijus Baltrėnas. “We are working closely with our German NATO Allies to organize our defence separately and together, exchange information and improve each other’s awareness. We are ready if we know each other’s capability, readiness and can rely on each other. The Bundeswehr is right here with us in Lithuania, and we are deeply grateful for your sacrifice,” said Lt Gen R. Baltrėnas.
The Federal Republic of German and Lithuania solemnly activated the Bundeswehr’s 45 Brigade Litauen for Lithuania at a ceremony in Vilnius.
