On December 18 chiefs of military staffs of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia discussed projects of trilateral defence cooperation, military exercises, and development of further trilateral cooperation at a chiefs' of strategic military staffs work meeting in Vilnius.
Chief of the Defence Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras discussed defence of the Baltic states with Commander of the Joint Headquarters of the Latvian National Armed Forces Brigadier General Ivo Mogilnijs and Commander of the Headquarters of the Estonian Defence Forces Colonel Veiko-Vello Palm.
The trilateral military cooperation of the Baltic states allows to use the available resources more efficiently, to increase technical capabilities, to share experience, and thus to contribute to the enhancement of NATO capabilities and ensurement of security in the Baltic region.
