On March 19-20 Commander of the Lithuanian Air Force Major General Edvardas Mažeikis is paying a visit in Brussels to attend a meeting of the NATO Air and Missile Defence Committee (AMDC).
At the AMDC meeting such topics as the Baltic Air Policing mission, NATO's Smart Defence concept, missile defence, and airspace command and control are expected to be addressed.
The NATO Air and Missile Defence Committee (AMDC) is the senior institution in charge of coordination of all the aspects of NATO's integrated air and missile defence, including air command and control. As a senior committee, the AMDC reports directly to the North Atlantic Council (NAC).
