On June 13–16 Commander of the German Armed Forces Logistics Command Maj Gen Gerald Funke and his delegation conducted a visit to Lithuania. He was familiarized with the logistical support organization in the Lithuanian Armed Forces and the scope of Host Nation Support. Commander of the Logistics Command Col Arūnas Dzidzevičius and leadership of the Bundeswehr logistical support discussed cooperation in the raea and other critical aspects of Host Nation Support.
The German officer delegation learned more about the Lithuanian marine, air and rail transport system, toured Logistics Command units and Camp Jonas at the Brigadier General Kazys Veverskis Training Area.
On the third day of the stay the Bundeswehr logistical support officers visited Rukla to meet with representatives of the NATO Force Integration Unit and the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group.
The visit to Lithuania then closed with a meeting with Chief of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Defence Staff Maj Mindaugas Steponavičius and a briefings on Lithuania’s logistical support activities at the Defence Staff HQ.
