On May 2-4 Chief of Staff of the German Army Lieutenant General Jörg Vollmer is meeting with Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force Brigadier General Valdemaras Rupšys.
The formal meeting was arranged at the invitation of Germany. Course of affiliation of the Mechanised Infantry Brigade and its integration into the NATO command and control system, assistance regarding integration of the newly procured Vilkas IFVs into Lithuania's military training cycle, and other bilateral cooperation aspects are planned to be discussed.
During the visit in Germany the Lithuanian delegation will also meet with Commander of the German Bundeswehr Joint Forces Operations Command Lt Gen Erich Pfeffer and visit more military objects.
The Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf has been affiliated to the 1st German Division as off this year to carry out joint military training and enhance capacity in planning and managing military operations.
