Commanders of the Baltic air forces discussed further cooperation

On February 26 Commander of the Lithuanian Air Force Major General Edvardas Mažeikis took part in a trilateral meeting of the Baltic air forces' commanders at the Air Base in Šiauliai.

At the meeting the Lithuanian Commander of the Air Force discussed the most relevant issues of the service, and completion of trilateral and multilateral projects with his counterparts from Latvia, Colonel Aivars Mežrs and Estonia, Colonel Jaak Tarien. The meeting also addressed further cooperation of the Air Forces of the Baltic States.

The Air Forces of the Baltic countries cooperate particularly closely - the three nations collectively staff a joint Airspace Control Centre (Karmėlava, Kaunas distr.). The Baltic States host Baltic Regional Training Events (BRTEs) where air forces of the allies train alongside Baltic air assets and personnel.

Work meetings of the Baltic Air Force Commanders are held twice a year in one of the Baltic States.
