On January 17 Defence Attaché of Sweden in Lithuania Lieutenant Colonel Örjan STRÖM paid an official visit to the Air Defence Battalion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. He was briefed on the history of the Battalion, its tasks, current structure, weaponry and challenges, and future prospects in the context of air defence. Further cooperation with Sweden on training the Battalion's radar operators was also addressed.
The guest has experience in serving with air defence units of the Swedish Armed Forces which he made evident by destroying the target at first try on a new-generation RBS70 training system, and later prepared for work PS-70 surveillance radar.
At the end of the visit the Battalion Commander thanked the guest for his support and personal contribution to the development of cooperation with the Swedish Armed Forces.
"All Battalions of the Lithuanian Armed Forces are equally important to me but the Air Defence Battalion is closest to my heart," Lt Col Örjan Ström noted when leaving.
