On April 4 Minister of Defence Denmark Nick Hækkerup will be paying a visit to the Air Base of the Lithuanian Air Force in Šiauliai where he will meet with Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas.
At the meeting the Ministers will address NATO's relevant issues: the Connected Forces Initiative (CFI), collective exercises, NATO's Air Policing mission in the Baltic States and the perspectives of cooperation in multinational operations. Bilateral cooperation, mainly, the LITBRIG project for integrating the Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf of the Lithuanian Land Force with the Danish Division, is also expected to be addressed at the meeting.

Danish Defence Minister N. Haekkerup will also meet with the Danish Air Contingent deployed on the Baltic Air Policing mission during his visit in Šiauliai.
Denmark sent an air contingent to take part in the Baltic Air Policing mission conducted from the Lithuanian Air Force's Air Base in Šiauliai on January 2, 2013. This is Denmark's fourth deployment of its national capabilities to protect the airspace of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. The four-month rotation is carried out by troops of Skrydstrup Air Base with four F-16 fighter-jets.
