On March 16 Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lt Gen Valdemaras Rupšys took part in a distance Northern Commanders and Commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (AJFC BS) Conference.
The CHODs discussed the security situation in the Northern Region, presented the views of their countries on the potential threats, and informed about the changes in the security situation in their respective areas of responsibility. Such conferences foster the bond between NATO allies and NATO partners.
The Chiefs also discussed management of deterrence, advanced operational planning, military training and exercises, and NATO command and control structure.
Commander AJFC BS General Jörg Vollmer who hosted the conference noted that such events strengthened the ties and cooperation among the structures responsible for security and defence of Northern Europe and that way helped to increase the efforts to synchronize and coordinate joint deterrence efforts.
“This conference has further improved the relationship between NATO Commanders, partner nation Commanders and key security stakeholders in Northern Europe; this will help increase our efforts to further synchronize and coordinate joint deterrence efforts. We do it together successfully as one Team.''
