Exercise Iron Wolf 2024-II began

On September 7 international Exercise Iron Wolf 2024-II began in Lithuania. The exercise will run till October 17 at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area with approx. 3200 Lithuanian and Allied training audience equipped with 700 pieces of military equipment.   

“This exercise will hone readiness of NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group and Lithuanian Grand Duke Algirdas Infantry Battalion troops for round-the-clock planning and execution of offensive and defensive operations implemented in tight collaboration with each other and integration of combat support and supply units,” told Commander IB Iron Wolf Colonel Aurelijus Motiejūnas about the oncoming training event.

Besides the NATO eFP and the Algirdas Infantry Battalion, the exercise training audience comes from Duke Vaidotas Infantry Battalion, General Romualdas Giedraitis Artillery Battalion, National Defence Volunteer Force, Lithuanian Air Force, Military Police General Adolfas Ramanauskas Warfare Training Centre and NATO Allies –  Belgium, Czech Republic, United States, Luxembourg, Norway, Netherlands and Germany.  

Exercise Iron Wolf takes place every spring and autumn to certify readiness of the IF Iron Wolf battalions and to facilitate complete integration of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group.
