On March 5-7 Frigate Sachsen-Anhalt of the German Federal Navy is moored at Klaipėda Seaport. A frigate is a combat ship, this one is nearly 150 meters in length with 7,2000 tones in displacement. Its crew typically numbers up to approx. 110. State of the art equipment and weaponry makes the ship capable of destroying distant air, waterborne and land targets. It is a friendly and resupply port call.
Sachsen-Anhalt crew was welcomed by representatives of the Lithuanian Navy and the Embassy of Germany in Lithuania. The ship leadership will meet with Commander of the Lithuania Navy Captain (Navy) Giedrius Premeneckas. Later the ship will join maneuvers at the Baltic Sea with the Lithuanian Navy.
