On January 26-27 Study Period (STUPER) was organised by the Danish Advisory Team for staff officers of the MIB „Iron Wolf". Purpose of the event was to prepare for combat training of subdivisions of the „Iron Wolf" in 2010. Around 60 underwent the Study Period.
STUPER focused on drilling Area Defence actions. On the first day of the event participants listened to lectures members of the Danish Advisory Team delivered on defence topics. During the lectures examples from historical battles and conflicts related to area defence and lessons learnt were analysed, and doctrine of area defence represented. On the following day the participants completed a practical task of planning a fictitious defence operation in compliance with NATO's Decision Making Process procedures.
