October 20, military personnel of the Lithuanian Air Force's Air Base (LITHAF Air Base) together with their colleagues of the Danish Contingent on the Baltic Air Policing mission visited Šiauliai nursery for disabled children. The guests congratulated the staff on the 45th anniversary and delivered gifts.
Lithuanian and Danish military have a tradition of visiting nurseries - Lithuanian servicemembers pay visits on the major calendar feasts and Danes - while on each mission.
The Royal Danish Air Force has contributed to the NATO Baltic Policing mission for the third time. Before that the country deployed its air personnel and assets in 2004 and 2009.
Current air contingent is deployed from the Skrydstrup Fighter Unit in southern Denmark. The permanent core personnel numbers to 47. The Danish Air Contingent operating four F - 16 fighters is commanded by Maj Kresten Dam Andersen.
