Lithuanian Land Force and U.S. service members train together in a command post exercise

On October 17 through 19 the Lithuanian Land Force Mission Command Element trains in preparation for Exercise Thunder Strike 2022. The Lithuanian Land Force and the U.S. 1st Infantry Division troops discuss military experience, aspects of planning and cooperation challenges, and train operating jointly to achieve the tasks posed in the exercise scenario of the three-day training.

U.S. Maj Gen John V. Meyer presented to the participants the organisations structure of the U.S. 1st Infantry Division, its tasks and experience of joint exercises with other countries. Commander Lithuanian Land Force Brig Gen Artūras Radvilas thanked the U.S. side for taking part in the joint training and giving Lithuanian counterparts the opportunity to discuss cooperation.

The training is part of Exercise Thunder Strike 2022. Held since 2018, the strategic-operational level exercise will take place in November and December. It provides the opportunity for service headquarters and command elements to plan and improve organisations of armed defence of the state at national level and in coordination with Allied reinforcement.
