Lithuanians contribute in Operation Interflex in the United Kingdom

Military personnel of the Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment, Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School, and the General Adolfas Ramanauskas Warfare Training Centre form the current contribution of Lithuania to Operation Interflex in the United Kingdom. Lithuanian military instructors deliver the Basic Military Skills Course to Ukrainian colleagues to equip them with basic infantry skills.

Graduates of the course have skills in automatic and anti-tank weapon handling, battlefield first aid, offensive and defensive operations in different environments, besides other basic military individual skills vital for battlefield survival.

The Ukrainians are taught to handle the AR-M9F automatic rifle, including disassembling, reassembling, firing positions and skills. They also spend considerable time on field training where they learn camouflage, surviving direct fire or in case of hostile drone approach, as well as movement individually or in pairs, and many other things. According to the Commander of the team contributing to Interflex, the collaboration with partners not only ensures training for the Ukrainians but also offers opportunities for the instructors to become more qualified, share experience and learn from others.

Military personnel of the Training and Doctrine Command have been training the Ukrainians via Operation Interflex  since autumn 2022. Lithuanians service side by side with our Estonian, British, Canadian and New Zealand’s partners and are valued as reliable professionals.
