From June 1 to 5 mine hunter and sweeper M 650 "Sagittaire" of the French Navy will be visiting the Klaipėda State Seaport.
The ship will stop by in Klaipėda after participation in a multinational maritime mine countermeasures exercise "Open Spirit 2012" which took place in the territorial waters of Estonia.
During the visit meetings of the ship's commander and representatives of the Embassy of France in Lithuania are planned with Mayor of Klaipėda Vytautas Grubliauskas and Commander of the Lithuanian Naval Force Adm (R) Kęstutis Macijauskas. A spectrum of cultural and joint sports events with personnel of the Lithuanian Navy are planned for the crew of the French ship, an event to tribute war prisoners who built King Wilhelm's Channel and were killed, and other events will be organized. An opportunity for the public to visit the French ship will also be given.
