April 20, soldiers of the U.S. rotational company in Lithuania were decorated with the Lithuanian Armed Forces Medals for NATO troops during a formation at the Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment in Rukla (Jonava distr.).
Soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, U.S. Army together with Lithuanian troops with the 2nd Mechanised Infantry Company, Lithuanian Grand Duke Algirdas Mechanised Infantry Battalion were conducting intense training, practiced offensive and defensive operations since February 8.
The officer in command of the Algirdas Battalion Company was also recognised with a medal for performance during field training exercises and cooperation with the rotational troops.
The U.S. rotational company is expected to depart from Lithuania in May 2.
Soldiers of the U.S. Army are rotating in the Baltic states and Eastern Europe since spring 2014 as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve conducted by the U.S. Army in the eastern part of the Alliance.
