On June 19-20 commanders of the Multinational Logistics Coordination Centre (MLCC) met in Sutomore-Bar (Montenegro) to present the work done in 2019 and still ahead. Lithuania was represented by Commander of the Logistics Command Col Ramūnas Baronas at the event.


The event addressed logistical training and cooperation among the MLCC nations, substantial attention was paid to international Exercise Capable Logistician 2019 that had taken place in Poland earlier, and finalised the procedures for adding Ukraine to the MLCC.


The agreement to found the MLCC was signed at the initiative of the Czech Republic on 28 October 2009 in Brussels in order to develop coordination of logistical operations between NATO allies and NATO partners. The permanent MLCC headquarters was established in Prague on 1 January 2011.


Lithuania joined the Multinational Logistics Coordination Centre by signing a memorandum in December 2014. The main MLCC mission is to raise countries' awareness and understanding of NATO logistical standards and to allow the Alliance to assess national logistical capabilities of the allies better, as well as to increase trust of NATO partners through logistical support. To date, the following countries have joined the MLCC: Austria, Bosnia and Hercegovina, the Czech Republic, Greece, Georgia, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, United States, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Hungary, and Lithuania.
