Personnel of the Deployable Communication and Information Systems Module (DCISM), Great Hetman Kristupas Radvila Perkūnas Signal and Information Systems (IS) Battalion, are deployed on a six-month tour of duty in the NATO Support to Türkiye (NS2T) mission in Adana.
The Lithuanian Armed Forces contributes DCISM troops to the effort of the international community to support peace in Türkiye. DCISM will be responsible for a reliable CIS for the headquarters and information exchange among Allies, thus enabling the Operations Commander to deliver on the mission objectives.
Launched in 2012, NS2T protects the southern part of Türkiye against potential missile and chemical attacks of the Syrian side. The mission strengthens Türkiye’s air capabilities with a complex ground-air guided missiles defence system integrated with the NATO Air Defence Network to safeguard the population.
DCISM constantly update their skills in refresher courses in different NATO countries, actual multinational exercises and Alliance operations. It is the only module-sized unit in the Lithuanian Armed Forces assigned to the 3rd NATO Signal Battalion (3NSB) on a standing basis. Military personnel has been contributed to the mentioned multinational operations since 2013.
