Colonel Marc Ferraro, Head of G3 (Operations) of the Pennsylvania National Guard, and his delegation discussed bilateral military cooperation during a visit in Lithuania on April 11-13.


The guests met with Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force Major General Almantas Leika, Commander of the National Defence Volunteer Force Colonel Arturas Jasinskas, and leadership and personnel of subunits of the Lithuanian Land Force.


During the visit long-standing bilateral military cooperation between the Pennsylvania National Guard and the Lithuanian Land Force, participation in joint exercises, and opportunities for strengthening the effective partnership were addressed.


The guests also toured subunits of the Lithuanian Land Force, familiarised with their organisation, training, activities, history, traditions, weaponry and equipment, and communicated with military personnel.


Intense military cooperation between Lithuania and the Pennsylvania National Guard began in 1993. The U.S. partners host Lithuanian soldier sin various courses, seminars and exercises, deliver instructor training, and often come to take part in military exercises in Lithuania.
