On September 11 several tens of soldiers deployed in Lithuania as the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group joined a blood donation campaign and gave blood to Hospital of Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.
"Quite a part of the soldiers have donated blood before. Probably it is normal for them to understand the importance of such help in saving lives because of the character of their service; anyone may need such help in case of a crisis. Our allies serving in the Battle Group plan contributing to such campaigns in the future as well, not everyone willing could make it today because of their service," campaign coordinator and Host Nation Support Unit (Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf, Lithuanian Armed Forces) Sergeant Otilija Vitkevičienė.
Soldiers of the NATO eFP Battle Group have been deployed in Lithuania since the beginning of 2017. They have joined the ranks of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, actively participate in social campaigns arranged together with communities of cities and towns, always take part in the most important community festivals and are active in the communities in general.
