On November 27-28 Chief of the Defence Staff of Lithuania Major General Gintautas Zenkevičius attended the 6th Northern Headquarters Conference which was organised by and at the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum in the Netherlands this year.
36 delegations from different NATO allies and partners discussed the importance of regional networks, current situation, and enhancement of regional expertise between NATO allies and partners. Other themes on the Conference agenda were management of deterrence, progressive operational management, training and exercises, NATO Command and Control system during crises and peacetime.
The Conference is an annual event held in order to address regional issues and additional measures for demonstrating NATO credibility at operational level, presence and actions in the northern part of the Alliance. Last year the event took place in Tallinn, Estonia.
