On October 17 a delegation of the U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa HQ (NAVEUR) headed by Capt Reginald Baker paid a visit to the Lithuanian Navy Headquarters.
The delegation came to discuss the status of implementation of bilateral Lithuanian-U.S. naval cooperation plans and to coordinate guidelines for the future. After the meeting Capt R. Baker and Commander of the Lithuanian Navy Capt Arūnas Mockus signed a communique. The guests also visited the Naval Flotilla.
Capt R.Baker thanked for hospitality and stressed the positive impressions from the visit in Lithuania. He said he expected more productive meetings in the future that would strengthen cooperation, and delivered best wished to Lithuania from Commander U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa Adm James Foggo and Commander U.S. 6th Fleet Vice Adm Lisa Franchetti who was the conducting officer of Exercise Baltops 2018 in the Baltic Sea this year. More than 30 warships had visited Klaipėda Seaport during the preparations for the exercise.
