Servicemembers of the Lithuanian Navy conducted apprenticeship in US warship

August 1-16, four representatives of the Lithuanian Navy conducted apprenticeship at the US Navy frigate USS CARR (FFG-52). During the apprenticeship period the US vessel left Klaipėda and visited Riga's (Latvia), Baltijsk's (Russia) and Gdynia's (Poland) ports.

Lithuanian soldiers were appointed to serve in the ship's navigational, electromechanical and combat parts. As crew of the US naval ship and committed to its routine tasks, Lithuanian mariners familiarised with the organisation of USS CARR, particularities of service and traditions.

While transiting between the ports Lithuanian personnel aboard the US warship participated in the exercise of ensuring ship's ability to function and other internal training of the ship, as well as observed artillery fire exercise at sea and helicopter-assisted exercise.

After a short exchange of naval crews practice at the US warship Lithuanian soldiers expressed appreciation of new practice and knowledge, asserted that fine mutual understanding and cooperation with the permanent crew was achieved.
