Siauliai hosted a bowling tournament dedicated for the Lithuanian Army 95th anniversary

On the 20st November were organized friendly bowling tournament dedicated for the Lithuanian Army 95th anniversary ,where participated all Siauliai district military units together with NATO air policing mission team and other paramilitary structures. Main tournament competitors were soldiers and officials from the LAF Air Base, LAF Air Defense Battalion, LAF Maintenance Depot, prison department team, border and coast guard teams, police ,customs and firefighters teams and also Belgian Royal Air Force team who are the third time for the NATO air policing mission in the Baltic countries.


The tournament started with congratulatory speech given by Air Base Commander Colonel . Lieutenant . Vidmantas Raklevicius. Base Commander congratulated all bowling tournament participants who gathered to commemorate Lithuanian Army 95th anniversary and also accepted the challenge and did not miss an opportunity to socialize in less formal atmosphere. Commander of the Lithuanian Air Force base briefly recalled and emphasized that the military history began much earlier than 95 years ago and encouraged people to be patriotic and proud of who they are.

The tournament began friendly, but with a taste of competition. Participants did their best not only to win the prizes, but also for the honor and willingness to be the best in front of so many colleagues from a variety of different teams.


After tough competition by summing up the results winners were announced :

1st place went to LAF Air Defense Battalion team ;


2 nd place was LAF Maintenance Depot ;


3 rd place went to colleagues from Belgium who won against prison department team only by one point.

The best player in the tournament title went to LAF Air Defense Battalion representative, Justin
