On January 15 the sixth rotation of Lithuanian military personnel left for the United Kingdom on deployment to the multinational Interflex Mission for training Ukrainian troops. The contingent will conduct basic military training to transfer skills and expertise to the Ukrainian military they need in combat action. The Lithuanian instructors will also assist in arranging the Basic Military Training Course in the six-month long mission.
The Training Group has been formed by personnel of the Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School, General Adolfas Ramanauskas Warfare Training Centre, Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment, Lithuanian Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command, MD Jonas Basanavičius Military Medical Service. The Lithuanian Training capability contributes in Operation Interflex side by side with instructors from Canada, Estonia, New Zealand, Great Britain, and other NATO Allies and partners.
The Ukrainian troops will learn in weapon handling, tactical equipment awareness, medical and engineering courses, and build tactical action in urban and rural areas skills during exercises.
