MSgt Audrius Lužaitis injured in an incident in Afghanistan, Chaghcharan, was flown back to Lithuania late in the evening of Saturday to Šiauliai Military Airport by C27J „Spartan" of the Lithuanian Air Force.
Another soldier wounded in the incident 1st Lt Linas Novogreckis will remain in Afghanistan, Mazr-i Sharif military hospital, where he had a successful surgery. Medical personnel estimate injuries of the officer as lighter than expected from primary examination. After several days medics are expected to provide recommendations on treatment of the officer and his return to Lithuania. 1st Lt L. Novogreckis will remain at Mazer-i Sharif under supervision of military medics until his health condition improves.
