On November 18 Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Arvydas Pocius attended a ceremony of presenting state honours on the 95th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia at the Presidential Palace of Latvia in Riga. President of the Republic of Latvia Andris Bērziņš presented to Lt Gen A.Pocius the Order of Viesturs (Vesthardus Rex), a historical state award of Latvia.
This state award is given to military representatives of foreign countries for their substantial contribution to shaping international relations, strengthening national security, and assistance in training the Latvian Armed Forces.
