On July 10 the 6th Lithuanian military instructors’ rotation deploys back from the training program for the Ukrainian military, Operation Interflex, in the United Kingdom. The Lithuanians have been partnering with other Allies to deliver basic military training to Ukrainian military personnel necessary to be able to engage in combat action.
The Ukrainian troops were taught armament and firing, equipment identification, medical and engineer skills, with a particularly significant focus on live fire and field training exercises. The Ukrainian military underwent the training in woodland and urban areas as realistically as possible, teaching them to operate under drone attacks and various injuries. The courses had the most recent lessons learned from the front lines integrated brought by the Ukrainian military instructors.
The Lithuanian rotation comprising instructors from the Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School, General Adolfas Ramanauskas Warfare Training Centre, Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment, Lithuanian Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command and MD Jonas Basanavičius Military Medical Service has served in the international operation for the past six months.
Lithuanian military units have been training Ukrainian colleagues in Operation Interflex since the autumn of 2022. The Lithuanian instructors collaborate with Allies from Estonia, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Canada and the New Zealand on the mission and get recognized for their professionalism and trustworthiness in complex tasks.
