U.S. Army Europe Deputy Chief of Staff paid a visit to Lithuania

On February 26-27 U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) Deputy Chief of Staff Brigadier General Sean Bernabe and his delegation conducted a visit to Lithuania.


The guests met with Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force Maj Gen Valdemaras Rupšys at the Lithuanian Land Force Headquarters to discuss the regional security situation, Lithuania's territorial defence plans, Host Nation Support, international exercises planned for the region, and other aspects of cooperation. The U.S .General was briefed on Lithuanian Land Force tasks, plans for modernisation and extension, deployment of personnel to multinational operations and rotation of units in the rapid response forces.


USAREUR, operational level U.S. forces formed on the basis of the U.S. 7th Army, is under the command of the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) in Stuttgart, Germany, and the USAREUR Headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany, which is responsible for training, supporting, and certifying forces for wide spectrum operations, for the strategic access of U.S. forces to Europe and inside it, for support to U.S. allies, and for strengthening U.S. partnerships.
