Military personnel of the 1st Battalion, 109th Field Artillery Regiment, U.S. Pennsylvania National Guard, arrived in Lithuania with their combat equipment this morning. Comprised of, among other things, an M109A6 Paladin 155mm self-propelled howitzer battery and over 100 articles of other military equipment, the unit will additionally reinforce the rotational U.S. capabilities already serving in Lithuania. The capability reached its temporary home destination at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area (Švenčionys region) by rail. In May, it will join Lithuanian Armed Forces and other allied troops for an international live-fire exercise at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area.
