Ukrainian delegation focused on exchange of experience in military training

A delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of Ukrainian and Armed Forces was visiting Lithuania earlier this week. Over the duration of the week it toured the Training and Doctrine Command and its subordinate unis: General Adolfas Ramanauskas Warfare Training Centre, Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment and Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School. The delegation also visited the Defence Staff of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, Land Force Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf and met with top command of the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania.

On September 20 the Ukrainian delegation was welcomed by Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis who briefed them on the work and tasks and courses delivered at the headquarters and subordinate units of the Command, individual and collective training system used in Lithuania and its organisations, integration of simulators used for training military personnel, infrastructure, situation in the training areas and development plans.

The second part of the meeting addressed the Lithuanian Armed Forces doctrine hierarchy, training and updating techniques, adaptation and implementation, and included presentation of the Warfare Institute , its activity, functions and vision.

IN all the meetings the guest delegation was focusing on the military training practices in the Lithuanian Armed Forces, career education and training for NCOs and lessons learned and experience gained. The Ukrainians had an opportunity to get first-hand impressions on the practical side of Lithuanian military personnel training, see the training areas and equipment, as they were visiting different troop training sites of the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

The Training and Doctrine Command ensures individual training for military personnel of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and arranges training for National Defence System personnel, drafts military doctrinal documents of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, support Lithuanian Armed Forces units with collective training, ensures availability of training areas, simulation systems and training sites, as well as adherence to provisions of documents regulating assessment of collective training and alert levels at military units. .

Subordinate units of the Training and Doctrine command are General Adolfas Ramanauskas Warfare Training Centre (Nemenčinė), Lithuanian Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila Training Regiment (Rukla, Jonava region) and r.) and Division General Stasys Raštikis Lithuanian Armed Forces School (Kaunas).
