USS VICKSBURG visit Klaipėda Seaport


On May 4-7 USS VICKSBURG (CG 69) guided missile cruiser of the US Naval Force is paying a friendly visit in Klaipėda Seaport.

 

Commanding Officer of the ship, representatives of the US Embassy in Lithuania, Mayor of Klaipėda Rimantas Taraškevičius and Commander-in-Chief of the Lithuanian Naval Force Rear Admiral Kęstutis Macijauskas will hold for an official meeting.

 

The shipcrew will attend a tribute ceremony for the US servicemen killed during WWII in Macikai village (Šilutė Distr.), help clearing surroundings of the interrupted development children home of Klaipėda, Giruliai and Melnragė beaches, and take part in other events. US shipcrew and team of the Lithuanian Naval Force are also expected to meet for a friendly sports match.
