On March 14 and 15 representative of the Sea and Coastline Surveillance Service of the Lithuanian Navy Lt (N) Andrejus Golubevas attends the meeting of a coordination group of the Sea Surveillance Co-operation Baltic Sea (SUCBAS) project held in Helsinki (Finland).
The meeting will be attended by representatives of SUCBAS countries, international organisations (the United Nations, the European Commission, EUROPOL, etc.), representatives of trade and industry sectors. The event will focus on naval surveillance, safety and security, environmental protection, regional cooperation, and other points.
SUCBAS - is the Sea Surveillance Co-operation Baltic Sea project involving 8 countries (Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland).
The aim of the project is to develop mutual understanding in the naval sector in ensuring naval surveillance and security, environmental protection and implementation of laws of the sea in the region. Cooperation through the project is instrumental to making the data and experience of all the participating countries available to all the participating countries and having it used to the greatest effect.
