On December 10-11 representatives of Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, and British land force headquarters convened in Vilnius to discuss topical military cooperation aspects and to coordinate plans for future interaction.
The delegations briefed one another ono the current issues of their respective forces, challenges in development, main combat readiness events. Representatives of the Lithuanian Land Force Headquarters presented to their colleagues the ongoing development of the division-level Command and Control (C2) Capability Element, integration of new weaponry and equipment, mechanisation, and other processes.
Other topics addressed at the meeting were cooperation of individual Baltic states with Her Majesty's Armed Forces and joint military projects. Delegation of Baltic military personnel to the qualification update courses, conferences, combat training exercises and other events organised by the UK were discussed in work groups and participation of British soldiers in exercise sin the Baltic states was planned.
In the end of the annual military cooperation even heads of the delegations - Col Graeme Wearmouth (UK), Col Johan-Elias Seljamaa (Estonia), Col Didzis Nestro (Latvia), and Col Žilvinas Gaubys (Lithuania) signed a cooperation agreement.
